UNIT 8
Review the exercises and practice sessions you have completed in this course. (Loving Kindness, Subtle mind, Visualization, meditation etc.) Choose two practices that you have determined to be most beneficial. How can you implement these practices in your personal life to foster “mental fitness”? Provide specific examples.
Calm-Abiding is one of my favorite exercises and my reason for this is based on my personal needs to relax and become more patient. By practicing for the past 5 weeks I have learned to obtain “a Teflon mind” experience. The thoughts feelings and images have begun to drift, rise and fall with out drawing any attention to my thoughts. The intention of this exercise to relax and to experience a calming mind replacing confusion, peace serenity, loving-kindness and balancing out my relationship with my physiology.
The other favorite is meditating on my breathing patterns, learning to exhale and inhale breathing rhythmically and intentionally. I love the most recent exercise where were focused on creative visualization of my happiest time, a time where we experienced wholeness’ and last but not least our health.
The ultimate experience of joy, and exuberance is to integrate these emotions, and these new experiences into our daily lives to experience human flourishing. The benefits of these meditations are: clarity of mind, happiness, a clear cut-plan to attain my goals, a much calmer sense of being even through adversity. I am a much better person as a result of this 8 week experience.

UNIT 7
Explain how mindfulness or meditation has fostered an increase in your psychological or spiritual wellness. How can you continue to apply these practices in your life to foster greater health and wellness?
The “Meeting Asciepius exercise was quite cleansing. The rhythm of the waves were very soothing. The energy medicine of this CD was very calm. While listening to this tape and experiencing a native American healer as my wise person I experienced the medicine man clearing the aura with music, water and natural healing medicine wisdom. It was as if they gave me a peace pipe of instructions and how to begin the healing process from within, starting with my mind and working its way down through all of the chakras. It is important to continue the healing process that has begun the practice should be integrated into my daily meditation on a daily basis.
2. Describe the saying: "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself” (P.477) How does this apply to the health and wellness professional?`
It is important to "walk your talk" with compassion, love and kindness. Transcending the feelings of painful suffering into grace and healing is the true message here. One must be a conduit for healing and utilize the practices and can explain the healing process to each of his clients.
Do you have an obligation to your clients to be developing your health psychologically, physically, and spiritually?
Yes, as a healing helper we all take an oath to take care of our clients, and to serve. It is important for my holistic doctor(s)to have walked the path and understand what I might experience. Although, we all all unique, it would be helpful to share what some of healing experiences and set the expectations. This offers creditability, authenticity, genuinity, as we lay the foundation to flourish health and wellness.
How can you implement psychological and spiritual growth in your personal life? When I am psychologically balanced I begin to grow spiritually in my personal and professional life. I have meditated for over 20 years however, I become so engrossed in my work that on an occasion I tend to forget to honor the contemplative mind exercise into my daily life. This class has awakened the things, activities, creativity, care free and fun side of my personality. My world feels like a breath of fresh air and my heart exhales with a sigh of relieve.

UNIT 6 ASSESSMENT:
1.Practice the universal Loving Kindness (meditation) exercise
This exercise was profound. This Mirror coaching technique became obvious that by praying for others to experience freedom from suffering, I have also stepped into my own paradigm of happiness. We see what exudes from inside of self. Wayne Dwyer once said if you squeeze a person what ever is inside of them you will experience. For example if it is hate, an individual will experience hate, if there is orange juice you will experience OJ, if there is unconditional love when squeezing this person , you they will exude unconditional love
.2. Complete the Integral Assessment discussed Psychospiritual;
Biological and interpersonal.
3. Describe the exercise and assessment process.
Well the assessment is broken up into 4 quadrants. Psychospiritual, biological, interpersonal and worldly. My psychospiritual world is always first. My spirituality must come first. I wrestled with this for years and teetered between being a human being or spiritual being in a human body. I am spiritual and must integrate my being ness in every aspect of my work. This was a great shift in consciousness for me. However, it is important for me to address my balanced world of nutrition and exercise. I truly love this program, and this has become my first love. I believe that I can have it all! If I balance my time more effectively, I will be able to travel and carry my homework with me. What did you discover about yourself? What I have learned about myself is that I am a free spirit and must continue to embrace vs. resist. I need time to digest ideas, and programs. It is so important for me to launch my Health and Wellness program for woman this coming year. What area have you chosen to be a focus of growth and development? Full integration of my true self! It is important to roll out my HW program in the winter of 2011. Even though I still have a year to go in the program, I can begin to roll out the program in phases, learn as I go and integrate, implement the program as needed. Allow the target audience to create the demand for the program. Why? I truly see the need to help others become whole and to live the life that they truly desire. What are some specific exercises or activities that you can implement to foster greater wellness in this area? Continue to implement meditation, to journal, and to feel!!!

unit 5
1. The subtle mind exercise and listen to track #3 on the Dacher CD.1.Compare and contrast the Loving Kindness exercise and the Subtle mind exercise. Explain your experience including the benefits, frustrations etc:
As the mind became still there was a deafening sound and absolutely nothing was stirring in the room, in the house or around me. My rhythmic breathing patterns of Inhaling and exhaling became fully integrated along with my diaphram. It was very peaceful, eventually I could not even distinguish the waves or the flute in the backround of the meditation. Eventually, I became so relaxed that I felt myself becoming anxious, and wanted to go to bed and asleep for the night.
2. Compare and contrast the Loving Kindness exercise and the Subtle mind exercise. Explain your experience including the benefits, frustrations etc.
The Loving Kindness exercise focused on forgiveness and extracting the pain, suffering from another in return sending love, forgiveness, expansion of the heart, back and forth to and from the sufferer. While the Subtle mind exercise primarily focused on the calm abiding mind. providing assistance to the mind, slowing the chattering monkey, causing the mind to experience pure stillness, witnessing and relaxation.
3. Discuss the connection of the spiritual wellness to mental and physical wellness. Explain how the connection is manifested in your personal life.
Explanation: The spiritual body becomes one with all of causal bodies, and the experience of our body manifests the spirit. Spiritual wellness is a feeling where you have a chance to experience all levels of the mind, body and spirit as a hologram. for example: the hologram, spirals upward and the mind and body which is the temple of our soul become one. There is no separateness, peace, samadhi and love. When the mind is healthy the body will respond as healthy and the spirit will be all knowing and healthy as well. Our spiritual wellness, mental, emotional, and physical wellness become united and become the Omnipotent!
Meditation has become a way of life for me for over the past 18 years. The practice of meditation have developed my deeper listening skills. My hearing has been enchanced, my mind is sharper, and I remember events, activities and accomplish my daily list of things to do easily and effortlessly. The practice clears the cobwebs from my mind, assists with clarity of mind and focus. My practice has positively affected my physical well being. When I integrate my Kriya Yoga breathing techniques, I receive a significant jolt of energy and an overall exceptional flourishing mind and body. My daily practice enhances the stilness of the witnessing mind, calm-abiding, and fully integrates the unity consciousness.

Describe your experience. (Did you find it beneficial? Difficult?) Why or Why not? Would you recommend this to others? Why or Why not?
Yes, the Loving Kindness tape was very relaxing and not difficult at all. What it revealed to me was,how stressful my environment is on an ongoing basis from Monday through Friday. Without a conscious intention to relax and to breathe deeply I have begun to adapt my lifestyle to constant motion, activity without any downtime to relax, breathe deeping and to enjoy life. My body is not designed to run consistantly if I truly desire to obtain optimal, and flourishing health. I believe that the best balanced lifestyle formula for me is to feel refreshed, alive and mentally alert is the following:
7 hours of uninterrupted sound sleep,
2 hours of quality meditation in the morning and in the evening for a minimum of 1 hour for each practice.
9 hours for work this also includes drive time
3 hours of home work
1 hour for my physical fitness workout
2 hours left over for quality family time and fun. I would consider this a balanced life.
I am in the midst of refining my time management skills.
Yes, I would definitely recommend this relaxation tape to others and plan to share it with some friends to see what benefits they experience from listening to the CD, and what changes if any they would make with their life.
2) What is the concept of "Mental Workout"? What does the research indicate are the proven benefits of a Mental Work Out? How can you implement mental workouts to foster your psychological health?
A Mental work out can begin the process of obtaining "human flourishing" lifestyle. However, it may require an Olympian focused intension, determination, and practice. The outcome can far surpass optimum health, ultimate happiness and wholeness. By implementing a minimum of one hour a day can add up and the results outstanding. I have integrated a healthy diet, proper nutrition, daily exercise of a minimum of 45 minutes a day for the past year and my perseverance has not been for naught. I have dropped almost 2 dress sizes and my waistline has been significantly reduced. I recently met with a friend with whom I have not seen in the past 4 months and she recognized the changes immediately.
It is the same for mental conditioning and mental work. By integrating a daily mental workout program, I will begin to slow my life style, down to a crawl begin to open my heart to others, and gradually diminish self centerdness. The moment I begin to slow my mind, heart, spirit the healing process begins in all three, and the mind begins to open up mind for further development. It is similar to lifting weights, building the muscles, in either the arm, leg, back, or tightening the stomach muscles instead we are building mental muscles of expanded consciousness.
